Slight change of plans happened and instead of Göteborg we went to see Olivia in Stockholm. And so after spending the night on a ship, arriving at six in the morning and then taking the wrong bus three times and going pretty much around the whole city-center and having the most amazing bun and coffee for breakfast in the cutest and the coziest cafeteria we just checked in our hotel room and it is awesome! Like, A LOT fancier than what I'm used to! Ahhh it's been ages since I stayed in a nice hotel with an all-you-can-eat buffet for breakfast (I honestly can't wait for the breakfast!)
And since you're able to go and buy alcohol from Systembolaget once you turn twenty and it's a big deal here or something that's what we're going to do. And go eat out and clubbing! AHHH!
But mostly I'm just really excited for this damn hotel.

I just realized I never posted the pictures from the Berlin-invasion here like I was supposed to (although those who have me on facebook and irc-galleria are probably dead tired of them by now)! So I'll just link Lamppu's picture gallery here for those interested. All pics taken by her!

I think I'm having some sort of a ridiculous crisis related to turning twenty in a couple of weeks and still not knowing what I want to do when I "grow up". I'm currently taking courses in information science and it's all very interesting but the profession of an elementary school teacher has always been a "calling" to me or so it feels. So I'm thinking of applying for that next year. AND I'm ALSO interested in graphics and advertisement and languages and history and all not related to each other by the slightest! So my problem really isn't that I don't know what I want to do but that I just want to do everything!

A few years ago I really thought I'd have it ALL figured out by the time I turn twenty.

Oh right, I have an epic trip to Göteborg and possibly Copenhagen planned on my birthday. With RONJA and OLIVIA, my America gang! I can't wait to see them!

Serious business aside, TV fall seasons have started running and pretty much everything pleases my more or less elitist taste so far. Except for Hilary Duff's character in Gossip Girl who just irritates me a lot and mostly for reminding me too much of freaking HANNAH MONTANA.

Muutin Tampereelle, täällä on aika mukavaa. Linnea, ihana ystäväni tarvitsi siis kämppistä maksamaan vuokraa 60 neliön kaksiosta ja koska juttuhan on niin että suunnilleen kaikki kaverini tänne päin olivat suuntaamassa niin päätin sitten minäkin.

On ollut kyllä aika hullua tässä muutama viikko; töitä, töitä, serkun häät, muuttokiireet ja vielä ikävä kuume, flunssa ja yskä. Perjanti-lauantaikin meni muuttokuorman purkamisen sijaan ryypiskellessä ja eeppisessä krapulassa mutta otin itseäni nisksta kiinni sunnuntaina ja laitoin paikat kuntoon. Suoritinpa vielä suursiivouksenikin siihen päälle! Nyt on hyvä mieli ja asiat järjestyksessä, toinen välivuosi lähtenyt käyntiin.

I'll spam with pictures when I don't feel like a dead rag. lampu, my awesome travel companion took like 800. But for now all this ongoing moving/working stuff and constant packing for everything possible ever is making me sleepy.

So yeah, now I have to (get to?) work at Puijon Torni the whole week. I got "promoted" from my ice cream booth to Kuopio/Finland themed souvenir shop and even though I can't level up my team in pokemon at work anymore I have to say it's a lot more rewarding. And I finally got a good look at the Lapland - product selection at the store and I'm totally going to buy a cute, cozy, warm reindeer-fleece blanket for my sofa ♥

Summersummersummer is over soon!

So much random shit has happened I can't possibly put it all in one lj-entry. And many times it was under the influence of ethanol and nobody is interested in the adventures of drunk!Laura anyway. I think it'd be in the best interest of my bank account and brain cells to cut down the crazy partying for a while now. All in all, Awesomedose is what this summer has been and the hopefully-best part is still up ahead, even. Well anyway, to the point

I remember dropping at least Heroes and Supernatural last spring so maybe I'll give them another chance this fall! I'm also in the mood for some Ugly Betty-like drama as well so I might pick that up from where I droppedit, which was the second season. Then I have the first season of 24 borrowed from my friend so I shouldn't run out of shows to watch any time soon. Darkness and cold weather will make me want to watch a lot of TV so.


So many exiting, wonderful things are happening to me and I feel really happy. Plus anybody who knows me at all knows I absolutely love autumn and everything related to it!

Although my online activity may suggest otherwise, I’m alive. Barely. As in, work is eating up all my time and energy as not stressful as it is to work at an ice cream booth. But I guess I could say I really like my laid-back job and working 200+ meters above the sea level is definitely a perk for the scenery. As is daily eating á la carte restaurant food and so much ice cream I’ll very likely get sick of it at some point ♥ (odds are I'll gain like 10 kg during this summer!)

About two more months until me and lampu will invade Berlin and I’ll probably have to purchase a camera before that so I can actually do the tourist thing. I've failed to find an adapter to make my American camera work in Finland and my phone camera is not all that convenient. I’m not too happy since good cameras are pricy and I don’t know a lot about what’s good and what’s not. Good thing my travelbuddy has her awesome camera, though!
And many things to do, many euros to earn and many places to go before all that. Like Animecon in a couple weeks. It’s been so long since I went to a convention so I miss that a lot.

The weather outside is so nice, I feel like going swimming for the first time this summer! And it's almost July and I still haven't played tennis or beachvolley both of which are my favorite summer things to do. I believe it's time to recruite some friends to go with me!

As the title states. I haven't gotten a lot of new pics done because whenever I'm free from work I just like to ~relax~. So here's some stuff from a couple of weeks back since until now I've been too ignorant to post most of them anywhere.

I got me a summer job!

And from an awesome place even. I'll be selling ice cream and souvenirs at Puijontorni. Too bad the tower's up on a hill and no buss goes up there so it's going to be a nice little exercise by bicycle every morning |D

Obviously this means I won't move to Helsinki and staying here makes me feel a little trapped but yeah, money is a necessary thing to have.

And today I'll drive to Helsinki to stay at mum's until my work starts at the end of the month and since I don't really know anyone there, I'll probably have a lot of time to study for the entrance exams for university. This is a good thing.

OH WOW OMG

So this is definitely good news

I have total faith in Pokémon remakes, Leaf Green and Fire Red proved that well enough. And awesomely enough, Gold and Silver are kind of my favorite games of the series. Special emotional bond that has to do with nostalgia and all that. And and, Ho-oh! and LUGIA!

People keep asking why I don't consider drawing stuff as a profession and I keep saying it's because I wouldn't have the patience and infinite inspiration and I'm afraid I'll lose interest when really it's because I only care about drawing crappy fanart :D

How I met your mother
So. if you’re not yet watching himym I’m recommending you to do so immediately. There’s nothing in this show that’s not amazing. It always manages to cheer me up. I love all the characters and their mom. And even though the episodes have not been the best this show can do for like half the season, the couple of latest ones have been beyond that. I mean, Barney’s relationship with religion has always been hilarious but the recent monologue about Jesus inventing the three day rule made my year. I’m also eager to see how the Barney/Robin relationship will be played in the end of the season. I’m guessing Robin will find out about his feelings and is confused and will turn him down and Barney is heartbroken and everything is sad until in the next season Robin starts developing feelings of her own. Or something.



AND THIS SCENE. This scene from 4x20 cracked me up way too bad. I’m a fan of ninja jokes.

Desperate Housewives

If Edie’s death doesn’t play as one serious and super crucial plot related twist (and not just I-just-found-out-your-dark-secret-you-psycho-killer-I’m-telling-the-police-OH-SHIT-I’M-NOT) I will be mad. Chances are I will. I’m ashamed to admit that her memorial episode made me cry a little.

The setting for season finale seems interesting with Susan’s revelation and everything, though. Season five might actually end up becoming my favorite.
And I love how Carlos has always had a little thing for Lynette.

The Big Bang Theory
I think I’m slowly but surely falling for Penny/Sheldon. Their relationship is the essence of this show’s fascination. (It still bothers me that I have no idea what happened to that Stephanie. This calls for rewatching.)
A must see every week.

30 rock
So few weeks back I said something about this show being overrated. I take that back. It totally isn’t it’s one of the most amazing things ever. I’m still on season one and if season 2 would be available in Europe I’d so buy it.

I’m still catching up on Dollhouse, Supernatural, Lost and Fringe. Seems like I’ve been more in a mood for comedy with a little drama, lately.

Also, the final episodes of Pushing Daisies are airing in May ♥♥♥


I’m driving to Helsinki tomorrow and will celebrate May’s Day there. I just really don’t know any good clubs/bars where I could dance and hang out and wave around some single stamina™ so me and my friend will probably end up in some weird pace full of weirdos but that’s okay : )

Tulipas tässä yhtenä päivänä töissä puheeksi kulttuurierot USA:n ja Suomen välillä ja mulle iski sitten sellainen eräänlainen angstaus siitä kun olenkin täällä enkä siellä. Aloin miettimään syvällisiä ja totesin, että vaikka palasinkin jo helmikussa niin sanotusti hieman traumatisoituneena ja amerikkalaisiin täysin kyllästyneenä, on niitäkin asioita, joita oon alkanut jo ikävöimään. Tietysti muun muassa New Yorkissa biletystä, kuumavesidiskoporeallasta takapihalla, halpoja DVD bokseja ja Cheesecake Factoryn mahdottoman hyvännäköistä tarjoilijaa mutta erityisesti ihmisiä. Ja erityisesti Ronjaa. Saisi jo tulla takaisin sieltä tänne Suomenmaahan mun kanssa dorkailemaan. Loppujen lopuksi tuli ihan omituinen olo, kun ei mulla aikaisemmin oo ollut minkäänlaista takaisinkaipuuta. Pitänee järjestää jotain matkustelua kesälle niin täyttyy jotenkin tämä "tyhjiö".

Piirtelyä, jota olen harrastanut. Varsinkin tästä Ronjalle vääntämästäni USA/SUOMI kuvasta oon erityisen ylpeä (siis kun jaksoin yleensä tehdä noin paljon yksityiskohtia ja muuta sälää), vaikka se nyt onkin vähän keskeneräinen ja niin täynnä inside-juttuja kun vaan mahdollista. Isken sen sitten kirjeen mukana rapakon taakse, kunhan saan jonkun oikein herGän kirjeen kirjoitettua.

Sellaisesta jutusta angstailen myös, kun kesäloma lähestyy ja työt koululla päättyy. Tykkään olla siellä niin kovasti ja taitaa olla ensimmäinen työ jossa tuntuu että jopa saan jotain oikeasti hyödyllistä aikaiseksi! Oon aika paljon ollut nyt sokean kolmasluokkalaistytön avustajana (joka on ihan awesome) ja oppinut jonkun verran lukemaan pistekirjoitusta siinä sivussa. Olis ihan siistiä osata kunnolla ja saatan vaikka opetellakin. Sais laittaa ansioluetteloonkin jotain sinne "erityisosaaminen" kohtaan. Muutenkin siellä on sujunut kaikki ihan putkeen, vaikka nyt tänään muun muassa onnistuin sotkemaan valkokankaan vereen, heittämään sokeaa tyttöä koripallolla päähän ja mua luultiin neljättä kertaa oppilaaksi. Ala-asteella. Ei oo kyllä edes imartelevaa :B

Sain muutes läppärini takasin tuonelasta. Nyt voin katsoa kaikki jaksot kaikista sarjoista jotka on jääny välistä tämän parin viikon aikana. Jee, paljon katseltavaa!

I.. think I'm more addicted to Pokémon Diamond than I'm comfortable admitting. So much that according to Chrome, serebii.net seems to be my most opened page #3 and I'm actually considering cosplaying Cynthia at some convention in the summer. I'm aware it'd be really lame to cosplay from Pokémon and yet, it'd be the cool kind of lame. Yeah.
In the game I have great trouble finding a fire type Pokémon cool enough for my team, though.

And and, I want to talk about Desperate Housewives! (since the earlier seasons are currently so cheap I actually afford to buy them) I've been wathcing it so much. And I have to say the more I watch, the more I can't stand Susan and her "I have to have a man to be a person" attitude and how it takes her four and half seasons to realise that there is something wrong with that. Way to go, modern woman. Plus I don't find her relationship problems and on-off with Mike (who, imo, is also a very boring character) all that interesting anyway. And Susan just doesn't have the balls Lynette, Bree, Gabrielle and Edie do.

Gabrielle has always been and will probably always be my favorite character. It's been fun seeing her grow from an immature, greedy, bitchy, spoiled, cheater with questionable morals to the person she is in the fifth season; still greedy and bitchy but giving up things that are important to her for the sake of others and as the latest episodes have shown, knows doing the right thing comes before making lot's and lot's of money.

And I still don't want Edie to die. Who will speak their mind in an awkward situation if not her? I was so happy she was finally given an interesting storyline in the fifth season and that Dave-creep must be my favorite Desperate Housewives-creep of all times.


By the way, speaking of being a nerd, Dollhouse is really good (even if the pilot isn't so much) and everyone should watch it so it won't get cancelled. I'll even buy the DVD when it eventually comes out in Europe.

My four-day-long Easter holiday is going pretty smoothly. Ah, the many things I've managed to do, including

- packing like crazy since moving day's in two weeks, holy shit.
- getting myself bruised and numb from lifting furniture around.
- grilling sausage in a fireplace. on a stick ♥
- playing a lot of Pokémon Diamond (my team is so epic you have no idea)
- watching and getting hooked to Dollhouse
- partying and drinking and socializing very reasonably
- cursing all men on Earth a couple of times, especially the clingy ones.
- jogging, which was boring but necessary.
- NOT studying. Damnit.
- NOT sitting in front of the computer screen all the time (mostly because my laptop's still being fixed.)

Most importantly, I've been able to see a lot of my awesome friends and do awesome things with them and that's pretty much all I wanted to do.

Jasu and her boyfriend showed me pictures of a video projector they had borrowed for a day or so and WOW, now I know what nonsense I'm going to use a lot of money on someday.

Today we're making cheesecake with bff(s)!

THE ROLLERBLADING SEASON

IT HAS BEGUN

There's this one block I can go around and around without hitting the sand : DDD

I'll have to make a decision now. Mom's moving to Helsinki in one month and I could move with her. Or I could stay here in Kuopio and work at the school 'til the summer in which case I'd live at my father's. That'd be fine since it's within a walking distance from work and most of my stuff happens to already be there. I don't know what I'm going to do yet.

Uh, in any case, I'll probably move to Helsinki for the summer which is great since I'm sick of Kuopio and tired of seeing the same people and same faces all the time : D

So, Slayers Evo-R episode 11. Not the best episode out there but it definitely had the "stay tuned, this will get epic!" feel to it, which I liked a lot.

We get a special ending for the last episode which makes me excited of course. I don't think the name "Just Began" is promising new season, though, for I don't trust engrish but good god if I ever see the Dynast arc animated I won't ever need anything else from the TV industry again.


Some other things about things I'm following at the moment;

- 30 Rock; Just started watching after hearing people praise it and it's not as good as I thought it'd be but a lot of fun. I relate to Liz Lemon on some level but I guess most people do.

- Gossip Girl: Why are the newest episodes so boring?

- Desperate Housewives; I can't believe they would kill Edie off. I hope she'll get better. This series just keeps getting me hooked and every week I find myself going "yay it's Sunday! Desperate Housewives day!"

- The Big Bang Theory; Whooo! Summer Glau!

- HIMYM; Is as amazing as always. Karen was a fun character but I hope she won't be coming back.

I decided to get a new board for the next winter since my current one is wrong-sided and slightly too big for me. I could of course fix the siding with new bindings, too but I think I’ve had my old board for long enough. It’s time for a new, cooler one. The sales should start soon, too, once the spring hits!



Perhaps something that looks like the above. The colors are awesome and I’d just feel really cool and like a pro with a board like that. I'd actually love to have my whole gear renewed but that'd require me being really rich. Well, there’s always Christmas.

While I love the fact that the weather’s getting warmer and warmer, I wish the natural ice wouldn’t melt just yet. I was trying to think of ways to exercise when I can’t go ice skating anymore but there’s still so much snow-like crap on the ground roller skating is out of the question. Snowboarding is one of my favorite things in the world, but going is troubling and expensive. And I hate jogging, it’s just really boring. Same goes for going to gym. I’ve now gotten used to taking a 20km ice marathon round at least every other day and I’m sure I’ll get frustrated from not being able to do anything soon…
